I, Rev.John Mark, greet you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I take this opportunity to introduce a token of heavenly love reigns in my ministry and myself in a very humble way to you. I was born and raised in a traditional Muslim family in Bangladesh. In 1976, while I had been serving in the Army of Bangladesh, I gave my life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and accepted Him as my Savior and Lord.

God put a desire in my heart to win the Muslims for Christ so I left the job in the army. I started preaching the Gospel and sharing the good news with the Muslims. My wife, MORSHEDA KHANAM RINA also received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior later on. The local police put me into prison on false accusation. But thanks to God, He brought me out of the prison. Immediately I started preaching the good news and sharing the Gospel with the Muslims again. In the year 1978 I started my ministry in a wider scale under the name and banner of “Masihee Jamat” with the purpose of evangelizing the Muslims with the Gospel of Christ. Paul said in 1 Cor 9:22, I have become all things to all man so that by all possible means I might save some. Because of the particular situation prevailing in Bangladesh and the Muslim militancy is on the rise, we can not preach the Gospel openly. So we have to take some non-traditional and innovative ways to share the Gospel with the Muslims. Bangladesh has a population of 130 million people, out of which 87% are Muslims, 12% are Hindus and the rest 1% are Christians, Buddhists etc. We contextualize message while sharing the Gospel with the Muslims. Our goal and vision is to win the Muslims for Christ. So we are winning the Muslims for the last 25 years. Jesus says in John 10:16, “I have other sheep that are not of this pen. I must bring them also...” So we must win the people heart and bring them into the kingdom of God out of darkness.
In our ministry we have the following activities:
(1) Distribution of tracts, books and Bible: We have designed and translated those in accordance with the Muslim language and Culture. We have preachers and evangelists all over Bangladesh.
(2) Bible Correspondence school: We have right now 50,000 students in enrolment. And they are corresponding with our school regularly. We are getting 150 letters per day on an average for the correspondence courses.

(3) Bible training Centers: We have Bible training Centers in operation, Gazipur, 40 miles north of Dhaka.
(4) Fellowships (Jamats)/Churches: We do not use the word Church instead we use the word Jamat, (Arabic word for Church). We call ourselves believers.
(5) Church planting: We have workers all over Bangladesh, whenever we have few believers, we start home-cells and then a Jamat (Church).
(6) Cassettes ministry: In Bangladesh literacy rate is very low, 60% of the total population can not read and write. So considering this fact cassette ministry is very effective. We have gospel cassettes, cassettes of whole New Testament, music cassettes, cassettes on comparative study of Bible and Quran.
(7) Magazine: We have a weekly magazine named Alor Foara (fountain of light) through which we share the good news with the Muslims. In this magazine we also carry other articles on health, education, poems etc.
It may be mentioned here that in 1983 Bangladesh Government banned one of our books and five tracts. Praise to God, we are still winning and sharing the gospel with the Muslims. We are planning to expand our activities, which includes videocassette ministry etc. We need more financial support to run this ministry, to carry on and to expand the different activities of teaching and evangelical work. At the same time cost of living is increasing every year but God is our source Philippians 4: 19. We believe God for everything.
